How to Beat Kasei the Tyrant

Complete Kasei the Tyrant boss guide: phase breakdown, Ankylosaurus weapon phase, yellow attack dodging, camera settings, and recommended builds.

Boss Overview

Kasei the Tyrant is the demo finale — a T-Rex-type Alpha who stomps, chomps, and tail-whips with brutal reach. Phase one features an iconic attack where Kasei swings an Ankylosaurus like a hammer. Phase two replaces it with a colossal barndoor-on-a-stick weapon while keeping similar move patterns.

This fight tests everything the demo taught: parrying, stamina management, summon timing, and camera awareness. Most players report Kasei as significantly harder than Kira the Exile or Axe.

Recommended Pre-Fight Setup

Arrive with at least one upgraded Souls Art — Meteor Zone for AoE or Alpha Roar for staggers work well. Invest blue souls into Health if you die in two hits. Equip Axe as your summon for the +10% damage and stamina regen passive.

Before entering the arena, adjust camera zoom to maximum in settings. Kasei yellow attacks frequently leave the camera frame, and wider zoom is the community-verified fix for unreadable telegraphs.

Phase One: Ankylosaurus Hammer

Kasei opens with stomps and bite combos at mid range. The Ankylosaurus swing covers massive arc — dodge sideways, not backward. When Kasei roars, expect a charge or grab follow-up within two seconds.

Parry red-glint bites when you are confident. For the spinning yellow combo: dodge first hit, block second (costs stamina), dodge third (slow wind-up), block fourth. Rushing dodges gets punished by follow-through — wait for animation commitment.

Phase Two: Barndoor Weapon

The transition is mostly a weapon swap, not a new moveset. The barndoor has wider horizontal sweeps — roll through the blade arc toward Kasei back leg for punish windows. Summon Kira or Axe during stagger phases for burst damage.

Do not get greedy after stagger. Kasei recovers with a tail swipe if you overcommit. Two light combos plus one special per opening is safer than full combo strings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can I not block Kasei yellow attacks?
Yellow telegraphs indicate high-impact moves designed to be dodged or partially blocked at heavy stamina cost. Only specific spins are blockable.
How do I fix camera issues in Kasei arena?
Increase camera zoom in settings. Steam discussions confirm this helps track off-screen yellow attacks.
What level should I be for Kasei?
Defeat both mini-bosses first for Boss SP. Most players attempt Kasei with 1-2 Souls Art unlocks and moderate Health investment.
