Dinoblade Beginner's Guide
Learn how to play Dinoblade: combat basics, stamina, parrying, Boss SP, Souls Art skills, summons, and demo progression for new players.
What Is Dinoblade?
Dinoblade is an action RPG developed by Team Spino LLC, led by Jean Nguyen (animator on Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei). You control a young Spinosaurus carrying a massive great sword through a cataclysm-scarred prehistoric world. Rival dinosaurs wield axes, spears, and improvised weapons — and the combat rewards timing, not button mashing.
The game draws from Sekiro-style posture parrying more than traditional Dark Souls stamina dodging. Perfect parries fill enemy posture meters, restore your stamina faster than any other action, and open windows for devastating counterattacks. Understanding this loop is the foundation of every successful run.

Core Combat Mechanics
Light attacks chain into combos. Heavy attacks consume stamina but break guard posture faster. Dodges have commitment — rolling too early gets punished by attack follow-through, a lesson many Kasei the Tyrant victims learn the hard way. Blocking yellow-telegraphed attacks drains stamina heavily; dodging or deflecting is often safer.
When a boss posture bar fills from parries and damage, they stagger. This is your cue to unleash a special ability or summon for massive damage. Do not waste stagger windows recovering — plan your Meteor Slice or Alpha Roar before the fight begins.

Progression: Boss SP, Blue Souls, and Checkpoints
Mini-bosses like Kira the Exile and Axe drop Boss SP used in the Souls Art tree. Common enemies drop blue souls spent on four attributes: Health, Strength, Resonance, and Stamina. Resonance now boosts spell and magic damage after the July 2026 balance pass — invest here if you rely on Meteor Zone or other magic-heavy Souls Art abilities.
Open your character page with Tab to spend points. Prioritize one or two Souls Art abilities before spreading attribute points thin. Most demo players benefit from Strength or Health first, then Resonance if you rely on Meteor Zone. Checkpoints (save points) let you rest, respawn enemies, and return if you miss collectibles.

Summons and Build Identity
Defeating bosses unlocks summons — ghost versions of fallen enemies that fight alongside you on cooldown. Kira the Exile grants a summoning skill; Axe provides a passive boost to stamina regen and damage. Each summon has unique passives, so choose based on your playstyle.
Experiment in the demo because respec options are limited. A balanced approach — one upgraded Souls Art, Health investment, and Axe as your summon — handles all three demo bosses comfortably.
